Smart Punch is a product of Kelnova Labs, a software company in Kelowna. We make it for any BC business with a team: shops, salons, trades and contractors, clinics, cafés and restaurants, and offices, and started with one province so we could get every rule right.
Why BC first
Payroll software built for all of Canada treats BC as one option in a long list. The details that matter to a BC employer get missed: daily overtime, split-shift limits, minimum daily pay, stat holiday qualification, paid sick days.
We built Smart Punch around the BC Employment Standards Act and CRA’s payroll rules, then checked it against 20,000 paycheques worked out separately from CRA’s published formulas. Being focused on one province means when BC changes a rule, we change Smart Punch.

Everyone’s pay rates and tax forms, plus their year-to-date figures if you’re switching mid-year.
A side-by-side payroll
We suggest running your first payroll in Smart Punch next to your old system and comparing. If anything differs, we’ll go through it with you.
Invite your staff
Send everyone their invite link. They’re clocking in the same day.
