This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to every owner, manager and staff member who uses Smart Punch.
Don’t use Smart Punch to
- break any law, including employment standards, tax, privacy and anti-spam laws;
- create false or misleading records, such as hours nobody worked, fake employees, altered pay stubs or false government forms;
- underpay employees, keep their tips, or avoid paying what the law requires;
- enter someone’s personal information without a lawful reason, or use staff information for anything other than employing them;
- clock in for someone else, or get around clock-in rules your employer has set;
- share a login, use another person’s account, or let someone who no longer works for you keep access.
Don’t interfere with the service
- Don’t try to get into another business’s data or any part of Smart Punch you aren’t meant to reach.
- Don’t upload viruses or anything harmful, or try to disrupt or overload the service.
- Don’t scrape, copy or resell the service, or use automated tools to access it, unless we’ve agreed in writing.
- Don’t reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
Security research
We welcome reports of security problems. If you think you’ve found one, email security@smartpunch.ca before telling anyone else. When testing, use only your own account, don’t view or change other people’s data, don’t disrupt the service, and give us a reasonable time to fix the problem. We won’t take legal action against good-faith research that follows these rules.
What happens if this policy is broken
We may remove access for a user, or suspend an account, where that’s needed to stop serious harm or a threat to the service. Where we can, we’ll tell the account owner first and give them a chance to fix the problem.
